Description

The role involves site development engineering and project management for diverse land‑development projects. Responsibilities include completing civil design, permitting, and using software such as hydrology modeling tools, storm drainage programs, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D, as well as conducting research, coordination, cost estimating, staff management, and preparing bid packages and technical specifications. The hire will receive on‑the‑job and formal training, mentorship, and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions.

• Conduct site civil design, storm drainage, and hydrology modeling using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Manage permitting processes for land disturbance and prepare bid packages and technical specifications.
• Perform project coordination, research, cost estimating, and staff management tasks.

Requirements

Kimley-Horn's Bryan/College Station, Texas office is seeking a Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with at least two years of experience to join their Land Development team. This position is on‑site and not remote.

Candidates must have a bachelor's or master's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program and at least two years of experience with a civil engineering design firm. An EIT or Engineering Intern certification (or ability to obtain one within 12 months) is required, along with proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills. The ideal applicant is detail‑oriented, self‑initiated, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
