NASCAR Program Director

Description

The NASCAR Program Director provides overall leadership for the NASCAR Cup and Truck Series programs, managing resources and assets across Pratt Miller, Kaulig Racing, Stellantis, and external vendors. The role leads engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative environment while balancing on‑track performance with engineering, competition, and budget objectives.

• Establish and maintain effective customer relationships for the Pratt Miller NASCAR support program.
• Manage NASCAR support personnel, including department structure, recruiting, and training.
• Coordinate with engineering leaders to plan and execute technical support deliverables.
• Allocate matrixed resources (software tools, simulation, aerodynamics, tire engineering, design, manufacturing) to meet customer objectives.
• Oversee department business activities in partnership with finance and business‑unit leadership.
• Provide regular status updates to customers and internal leadership.
• Attend approximately 12 NASCAR Cup and Truck Series race events each year.
• Lead and attend Pratt Miller and customer meetings, offering feedback on program needs.
• Support Pratt Miller marketing events and general development initiatives.
• Expect travel requirements of 50–100 days per year, potentially including overseas assignments.

Requirements

• Hold a BS or MS in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Automotive Engineering.
• Bring 7+ years of experience in top‑level auto racing (e.g., NASCAR, F1, IMSA, IndyCar).
• Include at least 2 years of experience in NASCAR Sprint Cup and 3 years in motorsport management or leadership.
• Demonstrate experience with race‑vehicle performance engineering methods such as simulation, aerodynamics, and chassis development.
• Exhibit proven leadership of technical teams and successful execution of engineering projects.
• Show strong analytical, problem‑solving, and interpersonal communication skills.
