Preventative Maintenance Program – Create and follow PM schedules for all vehicles and equipment, document inspections, repairs, and part replacements in fleet logs.
Fleet Maintenance & Repair – Inspect, service, and repair company trucks (gasoline/diesel), including brakes, suspensions, engines, and electrical systems. Perform oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks as part of preventative maintenance.
Trailer & Equipment Maintenance – Service and repair enclosed trailers, flatbeds, hauling units, wiring, axles, hitches, and braking systems to meet DOT standards. Maintain and repair solar construction equipment including generators, trenchers, forklifts, lifts, compressors, and small tools.
Parts & Inventory Management – Source and order cost-effective parts; maintain an organized inventory of parts, consumables, and shop tools.
Emergency & Field Support – Respond to vehicle/equipment breakdowns at job sites; perform on-site diagnostics, repairs, and coordinate towing/recovery as needed.
Complete preventative maintenance tasks on schedule with 98%+ compliance.
Reduce repeat repairs or rework rates to less than 3% quarterly.
Maintain fleet uptime of 95%+ to support field operations.
Respond to emergency breakdowns within 2 hours on average.
Compliance & Safety – Ensure all work complies with OSHA, DOT, and company safety standards; maintain safe, clean, and compliant maintenance facilities.

Must own basic mechanic’s tool set.
Able to lift 75+ lbs. and work in outdoor conditions.
Strong knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
ASE or diesel certifications preferred but not mandatory.
1+ years of experience as an automotive or diesel mechanic (fleet or construction equipment preferred).
Welding and fabrication skills required.
Team-oriented, safety-focused, and able to support fast-paced field operations.
Comfortable handling field repairs under varying conditions.
Valid driver’s license required (CDL preferred but not required).
Strong problem-solving skills with ability to prioritize urgent repairs.
DOT inspection certification a plus.
Proven ability to diagnose and repair trucks, trailers, and light/heavy equipment.
