Property Bookkeeper

Description

• Review and prepare property tax bills for payment.
• Audit the property management database and general ledger for accuracy; research and correct discrepancies.
• Assist with the implementation of rent and utility changes.
• Participate in special projects as assigned throughout the year.
• Balance property management software monthly and ensure timely month-end close.
• Process security deposit settlements.
• Submit required documentation to affordable housing agencies in a timely manner.
• Provide guidance and support to site teams and other internal departments.
• Monitor cash flow for multiple property bank accounts.
• Audit daily deposits submitted by site personnel to ensure proper posting in bank accounts and the property management software system.
• Post daily financial transactions into the accounting system and property management software.
• Reconcile monthly bank statements.

Requirements

• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of relevant accounting experience, OR an Associate/Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 0-2 years of experience.
• Experience with bank/credit card reconciliations and general ledger entries.
• Experience with accounting/property management systems such as RealPage, Timberline, or Yardi.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong sense of accountability and openness to feedback.
• Dependable, professional, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
• Experience with LIHTC and other affordable housing programs.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, SharePoint).
