Maintain, transport, and operate the instruments and equipment associated with surveying land and preparing the job site for a survey.
Adhere to corporate and client Health and Safety program(s) and all applicable SOPs.
Supervise and direct other survey crew members.
Mentor field survey staff to facilitate advancement.
Prepare accurate, detailed field notes and reports of daily activity in a timely manner.
Prepare cut sheets for construction assignments as needed.
Review and determine the validity of data collection.
Plan and perform an increased variety of field surveys within the defined project scope and budget, using the most efficient methods, and in accordance with applicable standards of practice.
Electronically transfer field data files, photos and associated forms to office team daily.
Prepare or receive from the PM, the Health, and Safety Checklists. Review and instruct other crew personnel on all safety hazards, PPE, etc. associated with the work being performed.
Perform in-field calculations for construction stakeout and various land surveys with moderate assistance from office support team.
Operate and maintain the survey vehicle in accordance with the Company vehicle manual.
Interact with project site supervisors and client field representatives.
Use and instruct others to properly use Total Stations, Data Collector, GNSS, and other specialized survey equipment to collect data.

Use of other computer software: Trimble Connect, Bluebeam, Microsoft Word, Excell.
Advanced organizational and prioritization skills.
High School/GED or equivalent, Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
Knowledge of math, geometry and trigonometry for the purpose of performing calculations.
Familiarity with the TSC5 and/or TSC 7.
Ability to troubleshoot common GPS/Radio issues.
7+ years of related experience, 2+ years as Crew Chief, or graduate of an accredited four-year survey degree program.
Knowledge of Trimble Access’s features to include the use of 3D linework and models. Use of “General Survey” and “Roads”.
Ability to perform a GPS calibration and run a Level Loop with a Digital Level.
A valid driver's license and clean driving record required. MVR will be checked and monitored.
Demonstrate initiative in analyzing and developing solutions to issues encountered on projects.
Advanced knowledge of surveying practices and equipment.
Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
Valid driver’s license required. CST level II preferred. Ability to obtain Drone License 107.
