Provide expert advice and support to management and employees on all matters pertaining to health, safety, and environmental issues within WA/SA and to other regions as required.
Develop, implement, and monitor the Safety Management System (SMS), policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
Coordinate and deliver HSE training sessions, inductions, and toolbox talks to all levels of employees and contractors to build awareness and capability.
Assist with the preparation of and communication of safety alerts and other proactive safety campaigns.
Manage injury management and rehabilitation processes, including coordinating return-to-work plans for injured employees.
Lead and coordinate incident investigations, report production and ensuring implementation of corrective actions.
Assist with and coordinate the HSE related audit and accreditation/certification processes where required.
Conduct proactive risk assessments and inspections to identify hazards and unsafe practices, implementing effective control measures.
Reviewing contractors pre-qualification and management of the contractor management system within the region.
Review pre-employment and/or medicals assessments, review and recommend employment suitability to the hiring manager and with Human Resources.
Develop safety project plans and safe work method statements.
Liaise with external regulators (e.g., WorkSafe) and client representatives as required.

Understanding of and ability to research HS&E legislation, trends and issues
Return to Work and Rehabilitation qualifications and/or experience
Training in or experience in ICAM (desirable)
Demonstrated experience as an HSE professional, preferably within the facility management industry or construction.
High-level interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
Comprehensive understanding of current HSE legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and Australian standards (e.g., ISO 45001).
Demonstrated ability to develop and foster a proactive safety culture
Tertiary qualifications in Health and Safety or a recognised qualification in Health & Safety or similar discipline (Certificate IV or higher)
At least 3 to 5 years’ experience working in HSE as an Advisor
