The Sustaining Manufacturing Engineer I is an early‑career, hands‑on role that supports manufacturing operations, troubleshoots production and customer issues, and assists with new product launches across multiple sites. The engineer works closely with cross‑functional teams to improve processes and ensure product reliability, quality, and performance.
Key duties include supporting production issue resolution, performing validation and design verification tests, creating Level III work instructions, and contributing to ISO audits. The role also involves researching cost‑effective equipment, applying basic project‑management and Lean Six Sigma tools, and traveling up to 5% of the time to domestic and international facilities.
Qualifications require a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; no prior experience is required. Preferred skills include statistical analysis, PFMEA, DFMA, basic SQL knowledge, and an understanding of Lean Six Sigma principles (green‑belt level). The candidate must be comfortable working both on the manufacturing floor and at a desk, with strong problem‑solving abilities and proficiency in MS Office.
The position is based on-site at the Milwaukee facility, with a 50/50 split between floor work and desk duties, and occasional weekend support.
