SUE Field Technician

Description

The role is for a SUE Field Technician based in Manassas, VA, reporting to a Crew Chief or Office Coordinator. The technician will provide sub‑surface utility engineering (SUE) support by conducting field work, operating equipment, and managing data for various project scopes.

• Perform field work using geophysical prospecting equipment to locate underground utilities.
• Operate and assist SUE equipment, collect data, and transfer files to project folders.
• Conduct quality checks, process field data, and maintain project databases.
• Drive company vehicle and follow safety and security procedures.
• Apply problem‑solving skills in outdoor environments.
• Travel as needed, including occasional overnight stays.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lb, walking, standing, kneeling, and working in varied weather and noise conditions.

Requirements

• Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, representing IMEG professionally.
• Hold a valid driver’s license and pass a motor vehicle record check.
• Use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) proficiently.
• Possess an associate degree or certificate in BIM or engineering (preferred) and prior industry experience (preferred).
