Labour Coordinator

Description

The Labour Coordinator will source, onboard, and deploy skilled trades and labour across multiple ICI and civil construction projects, partnering with site supervisors and project teams to forecast labour needs and allocate resources effectively.

• Partner with supervisors to forecast labour needs and allocate workforce.
• Maintain accurate records of worker availability and project requirements.
• Deploy tradespeople to sites within 24–48 hours and monitor attendance.
• Source skilled trades daily via job boards, referrals, social media, and networking.
• Build and nurture a warm pipeline of qualified trades talent.
• Leverage unions, training centres, and community organisations for recruitment.
• Represent Maple Reinders at local job fairs and industry events.
• Conduct pre‑screen interviews, verify certifications, and ensure compliance.
• Prepare offer letters and coordinate onboarding documentation.
• Facilitate orientations and confirm completion of safety and HR requirements.
• Cultivate strong relationships with tradespeople to improve retention.
• Communicate regularly with site teams to anticipate staffing needs.

Requirements

Maple Reinders is seeking a Labour Coordinator for its head office in Mississauga, Ontario, with occasional travel to construction sites across the province. The role is integral to ensuring workforce readiness and timely site staffing through proactive planning and strong industry relationships.

• Require 1–3 years experience in workforce planning or recruiting for construction trades.
• Must hold a valid driver’s licence and be able to travel to job sites regularly.
• Possess strong organisational, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Experience with unions or construction associations is preferred.
