Co-op, Project Designer (Electrical)

Description

The Project Designer (Electrical) Co‑op will create telecom drawings that meet municipal and client standards, using AutoCAD and GIS to produce permit‑ready packages, construction sets, and as‑builts. Collaboration across teams ensures accuracy, consistency, and timely submission of deliverables.

• Design electrical telecom drawings with AutoCAD and GIS to produce permit‑ready, construction, and as‑built packages.
• Perform design calculations and ensure compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
• Assist in preparing project schedules, cost estimates, and construction packages.
• Conduct site visits and surveys to gather accurate project data.
• Generate status updates and technical reports for ongoing and completed design work.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and field staff as part of the project team.
• Utilize design software tools such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and related 3‑D applications.
• Support the design team with additional assigned duties as needed.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an Electrical, Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering program (or equivalent).
• Proficient with AutoCAD; familiarity with MicroStation or 3‑D design tools is a plus.
• Excellent organizational, time‑management, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Proactive, eager to learn, and adaptable to changing project needs.
• Willingness to travel for site visits; valid driver’s license preferred.
