The NESO ‘Markets’ function designs and delivers a range of long‑term and near real‑time markets to balance and operate a secure, rapidly decarbonising GB electricity system at the lowest cost to consumers. Within Markets, the Flexibility and Electricity Markets Development (FEMD) team creates the vision for markets that support a decarbonised system and maps the roadmap to achieve it. The Balancing Services Market Development team, part of FEMD, focuses on developing balancing services markets to deliver NESO’s flexibility strategy and the Clean Power 2030 ambition.

Deliver projects that enhance market flexibility and influence market design.
Apply strategic awareness of electricity markets, policy, investment economics, and commercial behavior.
Analyse policy instruments such as the Clean Flexibility Roadmap and assess investment economics for generation, flexibility, and DSR assets.
Produce clear reports, slide decks and presentations for varied audiences.
