The Land & Planning Director develops, implements and manages the risk to the region’s land acquisition strategy, ensuring company budget requirements are met. You will build strong relationships with key stakeholders such as council chief executives, local communities, ward members and objectors. You will monitor land market activity, react to opportunities, and ensure the team understands the Taylor Wimpey Business Strategy.
As a proactive member of the local management team you will lead staff involved in land acquisition and contribute to the Board of Management. You will have a clear understanding of other departments’ roles and input into the local business strategy to drive future growth. You will also undertake any other duties as requested by the Managing Director.

The role requires detailed knowledge of the land acquisition process, relevant legislation, and the geographical business area, including key contacts such as agents, vendors and planners. You must be able to critique development layouts for efficiency, enhance value, and conduct or advise on viability studies. Technical insight into issues feeding into viability is also essential.
