Performs sewer service calls, inspections and dig safe activities.
The employee may work on slippery/uneven surfaces, around machinery with moving parts, moving objects/vehicles, and ladder/scaffolding, below ground and may be exposed to water and other liquid materials.

Assists department in maintaining proper inventory of spare parts, materials and supplies.
Assists in ensuring all equipment and processes are well maintained and functioning properly.
The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Assists project and department to develop a culture of focus and engagement at the project to achieve EH&S excellence.
Work weekends, holidays, and be on-call on a rotating basis/schedule with fellow operators.
Assists project and department with all efforts related to Contract Compliance.
Respond to emergencies, work additional hours as required to complete tasks as/and when needed.
Complete and maintain proper operational and maintenance documents and records.
The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; climb stairs; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
Operate project heavy equipment, upon proper training and licensing.
Work closely with client/customer, vendors and contractors ensuring professional, courteous, prompt service and satisfaction.
Operates equipment and processes manually and through instrument control panels.
Operate project large/powered maintenance tools and equipment.
Assists department in planning, scheduling and performing all department activities.
Assists project and department with all efforts related to project/corporate and regulatory environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
Performs street sweeping, catch basin cleaning and sewer system cleaning activities.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
Performs technical O&M activities related to the wastewater and storm water collection, flood control facilities and all related infrastructure, equipment, processes and systems.
Operate company and client owned vehicles.
Perform work in a safe and professional manner by following all corporate and regulatory policies, procedures, and emergency response procedures.
Performs routine R&M activities related to the wastewater and storm water collection, flood control facilities and all related infrastructure, equipment, processes and systems.
Perform cleanup/housekeeping activities at all facilities, buildings and ground.
Operate project heavy equipment, Vactor truck, Jetter truck, sweepers, bobcat, fork truck, dump trucks, etc.
Keeps work areas, tools and equipment properly maintained and clean.

High School Diploma/GED is required.
Knowledge of proper Environmental, Health and Safety policies, procedures and requirements.
Work is performed both inside and outside with exposure to all kinds of weather conditions.
Must be able to work closely and communicate daily with customers ensuring professional, courteous, prompt service and customer satisfaction.
Strong reading, math, writing, and verbal communication skills.
Must be able to work as a team in a teamwork-oriented environment.
Must be safety conscious and at times be able to work independently with little/no supervision.
Valid MA Driver's license, CDL Class "B" w/Hydraulics License/Endorsement or ability to acquire within one year.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to distinguish color, close vision and distance vision.
Proficient in the operation and use of various hand and power tools.
Entry to Intermediate Level 1-5 years' experience working in the water or wastewater industry or related fields.
Valid MA Grade II or higher Collection System Operator License or ability to acquire within one year.
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to read, interpret, and record data from meters, gauges, scales, panels, computer consoles, and other equipment.
Working knowledge and skills in computer equipment and systems.
Knowledge of wastewater treatment systems, processes and equipment.
Must be able to work closely with local contractors and vendors.
Experience in a construction or utility related field, or a combination of education and experience required.
Troubleshooting/problem solving skills, provides input for corrective actions and implements corrective actions as needed.
Ability to maintain and repair equipment, have a strong mechanical aptitude.
Ability to understand/execute written and oral instructions, read/understand technical instructions and manuals.
Ability to operate complex controls, processes, and equipment.
Knowledge of wastewater regulations, requirements & reporting.
Valid MA Driver's license and the ability to meet risk management guidelines.
Working knowledge and skills to operate specialty tools specific to Departmental needs and requirements.
