Weighmaster (Harwood, MD)

The Weighmaster is responsible for weighing loaded trucks and taking walk-in and FOB customer orders.

• May dispatch local orders in coordination with central dispatch.
• Take phone orders as needed.
• Prepare end of month reports.
• Forward completed documents and cash to the Billing department or appropriate office.
• Perform miscellaneous administrative functions as required.
• Maintain customer relations with local customers.
• Assist with tracking aggregate inventories and notify required personnel of impending shortages.
• Complete cash deposits and COD sales reports.
• Assist delivery professionals with routes.
• Assist walk-in customers with orders, generate tickets and coordinate delivery.
• Work closely with dispatchers to provide price information to customers as required.
• Act as a back-up to dispatchers as needed.
• Fill in as needed for colleagues (which may include working out of other sites).
• Weigh trucks on scale, enter weight into computer, generate paper ticket or send electronically.
• Assist MSHA, OSHA and any other safety or regulatory inspectors as needed.
• Coordinate and dispatch Pit trucks.

Education Required: High School

• Written communication, verbal communication, and basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to use a computer, including Microsoft Office, Dispatch system.
• Data entry skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Sit approximately 7 hours per day and walk or stand the other 1 hour per day.
• Exposure to dust, fumes/offensive smells, and chemicals.
• Close proximity to moving mechanical parts.
• Lift a maximum weight of 20 lbs. and carry up to 20 lbs. on occasion.
