Key responsibilities include preparing, organizing, and maintaining legal documents and contracts while updating standard operating procedures as needed. The paralegal assists in drafting and reviewing routine contracts and amendments, creates prime agreements using standard forms, conducts initial reviews with Document Crunch, and processes subcontract form revisions. Additional duties involve managing scheduling, correspondence, and filing systems for the legal department and developing training on legal SOPs.
The position reports to the General Counsel and is a full-time, salaried-exempt role based in Austin, TX, with hybrid or remote options. Normal office hours are 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. The role supports the General Counsel by handling administrative and scheduling tasks and streamlining legal operations, emphasizing transactional work. Candidates with a strong transactional background are preferred over litigation experience.
The ideal candidate holds an associate or bachelor’s degree, preferably with a paralegal certification, and has at least five years of corporate paralegal experience, especially in construction law and contracts. Ten or more years of experience with a heavy transactional focus is advantageous. Required skills include proficiency with Microsoft Office, strong organization, deadline tracking, effective communication, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities. Familiarity with Texas construction statutes, lien laws, and prevailing-wage compliance is a major plus.
