Structural Steel Project Manager

Description

• Review/ Approve Language of Trade Contracts
• Manages the preconstruction process with Owners.
• Oversee Process of Master Schedule
• Ensure a Fully Approved Owner Agreement through the MCC Risk Management Platform
• Prepares the Schedule of Values or cost loading of the schedule
• Management of Change Management Process
• Submits Personnel Action Forms (PAF) on terminated employees promptly to Human Resources
• Oversight and Review of the project team’s performance
• Approves Subcontracts and Purchase Orders
• Develops and manages Owner relationships.
• Manage the Performance of the Project
• Provides Management of QA QC program compliance on the job
• Review and Ensure Accuracy of Owner SOV/ Pay Apps
• Prepare Master Schedule/Oversee Updates with the Superintendent
• Manage Accounting Functions and Budget
• Oversee and Lead Construction Activities - complete project Manages Implementation of Project Staffing Plan
• Chairs the Preconstruction meetings with subcontractors
• Oversee Job Cost Budget Setup
• Approves Submission of Change Order Requests to Owners
• Participate in the Change Management Process
• Manages Field Accounting Procedures (Drafts, Timesheets, Hiring Practices, Certified Payroll)
• Review and Ensure Accuracy of Project Reporting/Project Status Reports
• Practices implementation of Operation Zero and all Manhattan safety policies
• Lead for managing delays and the associated cost/time impacts

Requirements

• You must be adaptable to all types of weather conditions and traverse and inspect all areas of a construction job site, including walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, or stretching.
• Proven experience in Manhattan document control and schedule software
• Thorough understanding of the industry
• Ability to communicate effectively to participate fully in meetings, video conferences, and phone calls.
• Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office products
• Good math/accounting skills
• Must have experience with structural steel
• Effective Communicator
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to compose, send, and reply to emails and written correspondence.
• Ability to physically stand, bend, sit for long periods, and squat throughout the day.
• Travel may be required occasionally, primarily in the metropolitan area but sometimes domestically (must have a valid Driver’s License).
• Stadium project experience (preferred)
• Bachelor’s Degree- Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent. May substitute required education degree with related experience on a one-to-one basis
• 10 years of industry experience
• Thorough understanding of Schedule Standards and Project Scheduling
• Completes projects; achieves bottom-line results; has drive and persistence; shows initiative. Is a Leader and Manager.
• Has completed OSHA 30-Hour Safety Certification and First Aid & CPR Training and Certification.
• Strong management skills
• Understanding of contracts and risk management
• Ability to develop or maintain relationships with clients
• Sustainability/ LEED: Can effectively market as a positive MCC selling point
• Proven ability to manage projects in excess of $50 million
• Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times
• Must be able to lift, pull, or move up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Thorough understanding of the MCC Standards Procedures Manual, Quality Manual, and Safety Manual. Enforces all policies and rules on the project site.
• 20-time Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) Accredited Quality Contractor (AQC)
• Strong decision-making/problem-solving skills
• Comfortable public speaking skills
• Ability to repeat the same movements.
