IP Billing Specialist

Intellectual Property Billing Specialist The Intellectual Property Billing Specialist plays a key role in managing the financial and administrative aspects of a complex, high-volume intellectual property portfolio. This position supports both the Billing Department and IP attorneys to ensure accurate invoicing, timely payments, and efficient billing operations.

• Submit and troubleshoot LEDES e-billing via platforms such as BillBlast, Serengeti, and TyMetrix.
• Oversee full-cycle IP billing, ensuring compliance with client and firm guidelines.
• Track billable milestones and communicate client policy updates to timekeepers.
• Reconcile accounts, resolve billing discrepancies, and ensure timely payments.
• Maintain accurate billing records and prepare reports for internal and client use.
• Review and edit prebills and time entries; apply write-offs and partner mark-ups.
• Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to address inquiries and improve processes.

• Prior experience in legal or IP billing; familiarity with Aderant (preferred).
• Strong skills in reconciliation, data entry, and financial reporting.
• Knowledge of e-billing platforms and IP matter management.
• Excellent attention to detail, communication, and client service skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
