As Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and developing our commercial team, ensuring robust contract management, accurate cost control, and the delivery of strong commercial outcomes across all projects. You will split your time between leading the team at head office and attending site visits to support projects on the ground, ensuring a hands-on, visible presence across the business.
- Drive continuous improvement in commercial practices and processes.
- Manage all pre- and post-contract commercial activities, including tendering, valuations, variations, and final accounts.
- Oversee cost control, forecasting, and cash flow management across all projects.
- Act as the key commercial point of contact for the directors, delivering accurate reports and strategic advice.
- Conduct regular site visits to review progress, support project teams, and maintain strong client relationships.
- Ensure compliance with WB Power Services Ltd policies, ISO standards, and legal/regulatory requirements.
- Lead the commercial team, providing direction, mentoring, and support to ensure consistent performance.
- Lead on contract negotiations, risk management, and dispute resolution where required.

WB Power Services is looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to lead our commercial function at our Eastwood office. This is a pivotal role within the business, acting as the main point of contact for all commercial matters and providing direct support to the board of directors.
This is a senior appointment, and we are seeking someone with a strong Quantity Surveying background (ideally 15+ years of experience) who can bring commercial expertise, leadership, and a strategic mindset. While you may not have spent many years as a Commercial Manager, your track record as a senior QS will demonstrate that you are ready to step into this role with confidence.
- Willingness to balance office-based work with regular site visits.
- Proven ability in cost control, contract negotiation, and financial reporting.
- RICS membership (essential).
- Previous experience in commercial management (or readiness to step up) within construction, engineering, or power generation projects.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- At least 15 years’ experience in Quantity Surveying, with demonstrable progression to senior roles.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams.
