This permanent role is central to Pacific Blue’s Retail function, providing analytical insight and data visualisation support to drive commercial and operational performance. Working closely with sales, marketing, and operations, it is responsible for developing data models, dashboards, and reporting tools that translate complex data into actionable insights. The role partners with the Strategy & Solutions team to recommend and manage reporting tools and with the Data Engineer to ensure data quality and improve reporting processes. A key focus is delivering insights that support decision-making across sales, marketing, operations, budgeting, and strategic planning, while ensuring compliance with data protection and cyber security obligations.

  • Build and maintain data models to meet business needs.
  • Generate insights from data to inform Retail (and broader Pacific Blue) performance, including sales, marketing, operational performance, technology and digital data, budgeting, and strategic planning.
  • Partner with the Strategy & Solutions team to recommend, implement, and manage reporting tools as the ongoing business owner.
  • Act as the primary data and visualisation interface across the Retail function.
  • Develop and maintain tools and visual reporting to optimise decision-making and overall business performance.
  • Ensure compliance with the Company’s obligations, with particular focus on data protection, cyber security, and responsibilities outlined in the Register of Compliance Obligations.
  • Analyse data relevant to Retail operations and develop visual reports that support commercial decision-making.

  • Skills in design, construction and operation of appropriate models to provide the insight required
  • Ability to work without close supervision and self-motivated through discovery and learning
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on data accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to convey complex analytical requirements, results and insights clearly
  • Numeracy, including a sound grasp of the concepts of statistics and probability
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Programming skills: SQL, VBA, MATLAB, or some other programming language highly regarded
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in data analysis, visualization, and reporting within the energy sector or a related industry.
  • Competence with SQL query writing and interrogation of SQL Server databases
