  • Develop safe and effective SCADA engineering designs for electrical utility substations (12kV–500kV).
  • Prepare detailed design packages, including device point assignments, RTU configurations, network setups, and material specifications.
  • Maintain project documentation and sealed deliverables in compliance with Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC) requirements.
  • Assist with project planning, estimating, and progress tracking to meet cost, quality, and schedule objectives.
  • Create documentation such as evaluation reports, design bases, calculations, test plans, and hazard logs according to established engineering practices.
  • Perform configuration, programming, testing, and troubleshooting of RTUs, gateway devices, user interfaces, network switches/routers, and other IEDs.
  • Conduct field visits for construction support, quality control, and commissioning activities.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and review of engineering deliverables prepared by others.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Applied Science or Engineering.
  • Ability to work on-site in a hybrid office setting.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with CAD systems and drawing standards.
  • Proficiency with industry design/analysis software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • 3–5 years of experience in automation or control systems.
  • Knowledge of NERC standards.
  • Registered Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or equivalent at the time of submission.
  • Experience programming GE Remote Terminal Units (RTUs).
  • Experience with DNP3, networking protocols, cybersecurity, or M2M networking applications.
