Description

The Nurse Manager administers, directs, and coordinates all Pediatric Department activities, including scheduling of nursing and support staff for regular, after‑hours, and weekend coverage. Responsibilities include recruiting, interviewing, training, mentoring, counseling, and completing staff evaluations, as well as establishing interdisciplinary care models and overseeing clinical systems and software.

• Provide daily direction and supervision of clinical support staff.
• Confirm and disseminate on‑call schedules for Pediatric Medicine.
• Develop staff goals aligned with CIFC Health mission.
• Collaborate in strategic planning to support organizational initiatives.
• Support scheduling with School Based Health Center staff.
• Participate in Staff Quality Assurance Committee meetings.
• Ensure compliance with policies and recommend personnel actions.
• Establish interdisciplinary care models with pediatric leadership.
• Enforce HR policies, resolve personnel issues, and apply disciplinary actions.
• Promote and maintain high staff morale.
• Schedule and lead weekly clinical staff meetings.
• Protect privacy of staff, physicians, and patients through proper procedures.
• Interface with management and providers to implement system improvements.
• Supervise and troubleshoot patient flow processes.
• Promote communication and information flow within GDCHC.
• Oversee and troubleshoot medical management software.
• Provide direct clinical services as an LPN or RN when needed.

Requirements

CIFC Health, a Federally Qualified Health Center and a project of Connecticut Institute For Communities, Inc., is seeking a full‑time Pediatric Nurse Manager / Registered Nurse (RN). The RN will collaborate with the Chief of Pediatrics to supervise clinical support staff—including RNs, LPNs, Lead Medical Assistants, and Medical Assistants—work directly with clinicians, and ensure quality patient communication, care, and efficient flow for pediatric patients.
