

HDR provides architecture, engineering, environmental, and construction services for infrastructure projects.
As part of HDR’s Field Services team, you will work on the front lines of infrastructure development—highways, bridges, water‑treatment plants, transit systems and power facilities—ensuring designs are built to the highest standards of quality, safety and trust. Construction professionals such as Construction Managers, Inspectors, Resident Engineers and field specialists bring deep technical knowledge and a commitment to industry‑leading benchmarks.
The role’s purpose is to make $2 billion worth of construction activities in the Turkey Lake region operationally ready, conflict‑free and customer‑focused, while providing system‑wide risk awareness. You will translate enterprise priorities into executable construction operations and deliver decision‑ready recommendations to the MCOC Operations Leader and FDOT Operations leadership.
Key responsibilities include serving as the program‑level operational lead, owning the construction operational picture, and ensuring alignment with safety, mobility and reliability goals. You will coordinate construction with maintenance, asset performance and special events, resolve operational conflicts before they affect customers, and guarantee that no work proceeds without Operations Center approval.
Additional duties involve proactively identifying operational risks, preparing staff work for escalations, supporting decision‑makers with timely analysis, and managing construction impacts during incidents, emergencies and severe weather. You will act as the primary liaison with FDOT, contractors and internal partners, set performance expectations, monitor metrics, and drive continuous improvement of procedures and standards.
Preferred qualifications are a Professional Engineer license and prior experience with a Florida public agency. Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in a related field, ten years of relevant experience, at least five years of project‑management experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office and project‑management software, strong organizational and communication skills, and a demonstrated commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture.
