Coordinates engineering work plan and its implementation.
Significantly contribute to the successful delivery of Ausenco projects by working across projects and providing a high level of expertise in the various technical disciplines.
Actively participates in coaching and mentoring throughout all levels of the discipline and assists with succession planning activities.
Provide engineering personnel within the division with adequate engineering systems and procedures and training as required to execute work in an effective and consistent manner.
Review and approve, or delegate (as appropriate), implementation plans and man-hour estimates to meet client scope and Ausenco job requirements. Confirm these are realistic and complete; identify assumptions and qualifications.
Provide guidance, leadership and specialized technical expertise to the other engineers and team members in support of their personal development.
Set and maintain reimbursable targets for engineers: review and update forecast targets for utilization.
Manage the engineering work plan and its implementation.
Continually seek and influence others to seek opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
Manage the activities of the project discipline design teams to ensure quality, time and budget objectives are achieved.
Act as one of the proposal and estimating leads for mid to large projects/assigned clients.
Lead and oversee the development and approval of work schedules to ensure that objectives of cost, quality and time are met.
Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative solutions.
Provide leadership and technical expert advice on designs, engineering processes or unique and unconventional methods.
Prepare and manage engineering proposals and budgets, staying within the assigned budget and reporting any discrepancies.
On large projects, alongside the Project Manager, create and execute project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
Responsible for identifying resource gaps and associated training and recruitment activities at all levels within the discipline to fill such gaps.
Recruit engineers with appropriate range of skills and expertise to meet job demands and service client needs.
Confirm engineering discipline planning meets design requirements, scope and client expectations by maintaining a high level of communication with job personnel and clients.
Work with Project Mangers in managing and leading day-to-day client interaction.
Support ongoing development of engineering systems and procedures by interaction and liaison with Engineering and Project Services.
In conjunction with the Project Manager, develop project scope based on understanding of clients’ business and operational needs.

In-depth and relevant experience in multi-discipline minerals processing plants, particularly in gold, base metals, and industrial minerals.
Enhanced knowledge of the Engineering ISO, AS, ANSI, API etc. standard design codes.
Knows how to manage complex technical discussions with third parties (customer, suppliers, and regulators) to facilitate appropriate technical decisions.
Proven ability to manage, motivate and influence employees at all levels.
Degree or diploma in related engineering discipline.
Knows how to perform all discipline activities on large, complex projects.
Highly developed self-management skills, including time management.
Able to allocate limited resources among competing demands to staff projects with qualified people in order to form a cohesive, productive team.
Relevant experience with pressure oxidation (POX) circuits is a plus.
Proven experience leading design teams within a multi-discipline engineering and procurement framework.
Previous experience managing international projects would be an asset.
Engineering Management experience.
Minimum 15 years’ proven project management experience with an engineering consulting firm or other large organization; construction experience is desirable.
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the US is required- ideally Arizona or Colorado.
