Review site plan and one-line diagrams for fuel cell installation projects for accuracy and opportunity for cost reduction.
Compile comprehensive cost estimates for fuel cell construction projects. Estimated costs will be based on a preliminary site plan, one line diagram, Basis of Design document and observations noted during initial site surveys.
Performance tracking to track and summarize estimate performance collaborating with Finance.
Continuous improvement of costing structure based on lessons learned and continuous feedback loops with downstream cross-functional teams
Lead ad-hoc cost studies that enable rapid decision-making based on payback, rate of return, etc.
Defines and sets competitive construction estimates, budgets, methods, timeline, and evaluates financial risks
Support in verifying cost for construction change orders.
Support Site Design Manager in compiling RFIs, collaborate with EPCs to find opportunities in schedule and cost.
Coordinate with Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Applications Engineers to value engineer project designs and identify any scope deviations.

Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to present technical and financial information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Ability to select supply sources, negotiate prices, manage bid processes, finalize purchase contracts, and evaluate supplier performance.
Ability to lead cross-functional process improvement teams and align stakeholders across estimating, engineering, procurement, and execution.
Strategic thinker with strong business acumen, able to seamlessly balance strategic vision and tactical execution.
Extensive knowledge of material and equipment rates, supply sources, and market drivers.
Demonstrates initiative, resilience, and adaptability; leads by example with a “live and learn” mindset. Courage, accountability, and energy strongly valued.
Strong understanding of how schedule delays or accelerations impact budgets.
Strong understanding of a broad set of engineering and construction solutions and must have the ability to interface with the internal design and external customer process.
Proficiency in construction estimation methodologies, contracting strategies, purchasing, and supplier negotiations.
Analytical ability to prepare supplier performance reports, cost/price analyses, and performance measures.
7–10 years of relevant work experience is required, with 10+ years preferred in an EPC, GC, or construction environment. This should include extensive work in construction cost estimating and pre-construction services, ideally across industrial, commercial, high-tech, utility-scale solar, wind, battery storage, and/or distributed generation (DG) projects, with demonstrated coordination with electrical and gas utilities for interconnection.
Possess the knowledge to be at the forefront of the latest construction methods and execution for high-quality cost-effective site development.
In-depth knowledge of U.S. labor market requirements, with emphasis on East and West Coast, union and non-union environments; international labor market knowledge a plus.
