- Work on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
- Perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
- Identify discrepancies in results.
- Gather and correlate basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
- Provide guidance to entry level engineers.
- Coordinate with other design teams and disciplines.
- Prepare structural designs, plans, specifications and cost estimate for transportation structures including bridges, retaining walls, and drainage structures.
- Provide load rating analysis, rehabilitation concepts and structure type analysis evaluations.
- Propose approaches to solve new problems encountered.
- Use current engineering design software.
- Perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.

- Bachelor's degree + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- 5+ years' experience bridge design experience with project delivery experience in CALTRANs and California / West Coast U.S. bridge design work.
- Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, including technical report writing.
- Experience with Caltrans and AASHTO bridge design practices, techniques, and applicable Codes.
- Current PE license in the State of CA.
- Master's degree in structural engineering.
- Structural problem analysis skills (including knowledge/use of design and calculation tools, software).
- Knowledge of current structural modeling software tools.
- Knowledgeable of other standard engineering practices, techniques, and applicable Codes, such as IBC/CBC, AREMA, MRDC, etc.

- Offered rate of compensation for Orange, CA. (and greater California) will be based on the individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $100,000.00 - $145,000.00.
