3rd Shift Maintenance Tech 2 Plant

Description

The Maintenance Technician II will perform preventive and reactive maintenance duties for plant manufacturing operations. Priorities include executing preventive‑maintenance schedules, repairing equipment to maintain maximum production rates, and maintaining an adequate spare-parts inventory. The role also serves as the first responder to machine problems and supports daily management directives, continuous‑improvement projects, and safe, reliable plant equipment operation.

• Troubleshoot and repair machines and controls (extruders, corrugators, extrusion die, motors, drives, downstream equipment, chillers, etc.).
• Maintain and develop job skills through company training programs.
• Specify and order replacement parts and control components from suppliers.
• Complete preventive‑maintenance and repair work orders in the CMMS on time and in compliance.
• Act as first responder for machine problems and coordinate with Electrical Engineering when needed.
• Support daily management directives and initiatives.
• Develop and implement continuous‑improvement projects to enhance production efficiency and safety.
• Collaborate with production staff to ensure safe, reliable operation of plant equipment.

Requirements

• High school or vocational diploma (or equivalent).
• Ability to lift 50 lb to a height of 6 ft and stand/mobile for at least 8 continuous hours.
• Capability to perform physical labor in temperature extremes and use full body motion (twist, bend, reach, squat, mount/dismount equipment).
• Preferred background in electrical, hydraulics, pneumatic maintenance; basic PLC and drive training.
• At least 2 years of industrial maintenance experience with electrical systems and controls; plastic process knowledge a plus.
• Proficient with electrical test equipment (voltmeter, ammeter, ohmmeter, Megger).
• Ability to read electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical drawings; knowledge of NEC, UL508A, NFPA 79 codes.
• Experience with Lock‑Out/Tag‑Out, arc‑flash, and PPE requirements.
• Strong mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
• Leadership, time‑management, and task‑prioritization abilities.
• Knowledge of three‑phase wiring, power distribution, AC/DC drives, motor maintenance, PLC I/O, and motion control.
• Strong interpersonal communication with plant personnel, vendors, and company resources.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and experienced in root‑cause analysis and problem solving.
