Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for railroad track and civil projects for private and public-sector clients. Civil and railroad design tasks may include project layout, geometrics, site, drainage, and utilities, calculating quantities, reviewing construction submittals, and coordination with other disciplines.
Plan, organize, and coordinate with other technical and clerical professionals on multi-disciplinary teams.
Work independently as a project engineer on small- to mid-sized projects and assist senior engineers on larger projects as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Participate in proposal development and other marketing activities.
Serve in a technical role under a Project Manager.
Assist in the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects, including the planning and environmental clearance process of a project.
Perform quality control reviews and design checks of railroad projects.
Direct engineers-in-training, designers, and technicians.

Construction inspection or construction management experience is a plus.
Hands-on experience with Microstation, OpenRail Designer, AutoCAD and Civil3D
May require periodic travel for client visits, site visits, field assessments and construction inspections, as needed.
Local project experience is a plus.
A minimum of 3 years experience in transportation design - railroad projects
Excellent oral and written communication and project management skills
Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
MS Office software experience
Knowledge of "legacy" InRail/InRoads platform
Bachelor's degree
Must be able to work both independently and in a team setting
