The role includes developing and coordinating service‑specific education and staff development, managing a professional development budget with the Director of Land Surveying, and establishing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining procedures and quality standards for office staff. The Survey Manager will determine, monitor, and control standards for work products such as plan sets, reports, specifications, and data files, ensuring consistent and efficient delivery across offices.
Additional responsibilities involve advising the Director of Land Surveying on hiring decisions and technical resource needs, collaborating on staffing, utilization, and workload balancing, supporting market‑based business development with technical expertise, and delivering an ongoing mentorship plan for the survey group. The manager will also build and sustain a strong service culture aligned with Westwood’s corporate values and lead by example with judgment, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.
The ideal candidate holds a four‑year degree (preferred), has at least five years of consulting experience, and possesses a professional license where applicable. Required experience includes strong project‑management skills, effective verbal communication, independent judgment, leadership ability for technical staff, and a solid background in business development.
