As part of continued growth, the business is seeking a Land Development Surveyor to join its expanding development team. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you’ll play a key role in identifying, securing, and managing land opportunities for renewable energy and battery storage projects nationwide.

  • Apply your land and property expertise to meaningful, sustainable projects.
  • Negotiate Heads of Terms, leases, options, and easement agreements with landowners and their agents.
  • Support the planning and feasibility stages of each site, coordinating with external planning consultants and internal technical teams.
  • Work closely with legal advisers to finalise agreements efficiently and effectively.
  • Source, appraise, and secure new land opportunities suitable for renewable energy and battery storage developments.
  • Work closely with an experienced leadership team offering mentorship and career development.
  • Maintain and extend existing agreements as projects progress.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, agents, local authorities, and utility companies.
  • Support project sales, acquisitions, and due diligence activities as required.
  • Represent the business professionally during meetings, site visits, and public consultations.
  • Contribute to financial appraisals and commercial assessments for new and existing sites.
  • Undertake initial land and grid feasibility assessments using GIS and digital mapping tools.
  • Monitor project timelines, ensuring key land milestones are met.

This is an excellent role for a qualified MRICS surveyor or experienced land professional looking to apply their skills to one of the fastest-growing sectors in the UK. You’ll combine your land and property expertise with the opportunity to help deliver projects that have real environmental impact.

  • Experience in renewable energy, battery storage, or solar project development.
  • Understanding of grid connection and planning processes.
  • MRICS-qualified (or equivalent experience in land development or estate management).
  • Exposure to project transactions or M&A.
  • Commercially minded, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proven ability to negotiate and manage Heads of Terms and land agreements.
  • Strong background in land acquisition, negotiation, and development—ideally with exposure to renewable energy, utilities, or infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Proficient in GIS or land appraisal tools (e.g., LandInsight, Promap).
