Amey provides facilities management for His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service, overseeing safe and efficient operation of 60 secure premises across England and Wales. The Electrician will ensure both planned and reactive maintenance is carried out safely, compliantly, and on time within the prison environment.

The position involves testing and inspecting electrical installations in line with the 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations, and requires Prison Security Clearance, which Amey will help you obtain.

Perform planned and preventative electrical maintenance.
Diagnose and replace failed domestic electrical components.
Respond to breakdowns using the appropriate Safe System of Work.
Carry out electrical installations in line with design specifications and IET Wiring Regulations.
Test and inspect installations according to current IEE wiring regulations.
Monitor and order critical spares for electrical services.
Undertake other site‑required tasks and ensure health and safety standards are met.
Participate in social value initiatives with two community involvement days per year.

Hold a City & Guilds 2365 (parts 1‑3) or equivalent technical qualification (NVQ level 3+).

Be capable of working at heights and able to work independently.
