QA/QC Lead Engineer (Electrical & Civil) - Substation

Description

The QA/QC Lead Engineer will be responsible for leading and managing all Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities related to Electrical and Civil works for substation projects. The role ensures full compliance with SEC standards, project specifications, approved drawings, and applicable international codes and standards.

• Lead and mentor QA/QC inspectors and engineers on site.
• Coordinate with construction, engineering, and commissioning teams to ensure quality compliance at all stages.
• Liaise with SEC inspectors, consultants, and client representatives during inspections and audits.
• Identify non-conformances (NCRs), ensure corrective/preventive actions, and close quality issues in a timely manner.
• Interaction with client, consultant, and contractor teams.
• Develop, review, and implement Project Quality Plans (PQP), ITPs, procedures, and method statements.
• Lead and supervise QA/QC activities for Electrical and Civil works in substation projects.
• Conduct site inspections, surveillance, and audits for electrical installations (GIS/AIS, transformers, switchgear, cabling, earthing) and civil works (foundations, buildings, trenches, ducts).
• Ensure compliance with SEC requirements, approved drawings, technical specifications, and project standards.
• Prepare and submit quality reports, inspection records, and final quality dossiers.
• Review material submittals, inspection requests (IRs), test reports, and as-built documentation.

Requirements

• Minimum 10 years overall experience, with 4–5 years in Substation-related projects.
• SEC Approved (Highly Preferred).
• Minimum 4–5 years direct experience in Substation projects
• Saudi National.
• Locally available in Saudi Arabia.
• Certifications such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, QA/QC or equivalent certifications are an advantage.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or Civil Engineering (Engineering background mandatory).
• Strong knowledge of SEC standards, quality systems, and substation construction practices.
• Minimum 10 years overall experience
• Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
• Proven experience in QA/QC management for both Electrical & Civil disciplines.
