The Estimator is a full‑time, hands‑on role responsible for preparing accurate estimates for landscape projects by gathering information and analyzing key metrics. Duties include analyzing construction documents, taking off designs, and preparing bids to specification, maintaining project efficiency and ensuring customer satisfaction. The position offers a salary range of $55,000‑$80,000 annually.
The estimator estimates project costs, assembles numerical and descriptive data into proposals, and provides take‑offs while maintaining updated documents. They review job costing reports, adjust estimates, keep the pricing catalog current, and use software for data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting. Responsibilities also include reading and interpreting architectural specifications and drawings, calculating dimensions and footage, and completing final cost estimates with labor, equipment, material, overhead, and profit for approval.
The estimator assists with snow‑removal planning during winter months and performs other assigned duties as needed. This support helps maintain year‑round operational readiness. Additional tasks may be assigned as business needs evolve.
A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Candidates must have at least two years of landscape or horticulture experience, with two or more years of estimating experience preferred.
The role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong mathematical knowledge, and excellent problem‑solving and innovation abilities. Applicants should be process‑oriented to deliver complete bids with minimal exclusions, and be proficient with AutoCAD and Aspire software. Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screen is required.
