Senior Service Engineer, Propulsion

Senior engineer delivering field service, installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of marine propulsion systems.
Acts as a Senior Engineer for complex marine installations and as a system specialist for assisting Commissioning Engineers to lead product related commissioning activities as required.
Follow-up and report on the status of work orders to customers and/or internal stakeholders.
Provide internal and external work reports according to Wärtsilä standards and perform site audits.
Lead and manage assigned self/team while on site, interacting with the customer to arrange for proper schedule to achieve desired scope.
Ensure that the work is executed according to Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines and site procedures.
Perform internal and external progress status of the assigned work.
Proactively advise and promote available products and solutions to customers.
Interact professionally with customers during the work execution.

Responsible for performing complex and advanced troubleshooting on specific equipment and equipment families in relation to Wärtsilä systems.

Keep track and provide an accounting of time, spare parts used.
Perform advanced troubleshooting on site to isolate and find root causes of failures in propulsion mechanical and hydraulic equipment.

Experience with many aspects of marine propulsion systems: transverse thrusters, steerable thrusters, retractable thrusters, underwater mountable thrusters, controllable and fixed pitch propellers, and gearboxes.
Strong focus on quality and safety
Knowledge of Electrical and Automation systems will be a plus.
Team player mindset
Good time management and organizational skills - able to effectively manage a dynamic workload.
Theoretical and practical knowledge on tools handling and mechanical components dimensional inspection.
Preferred MSc or BSc in Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering, or equivalent work experience
