Drivers are responsible for performing minor preventive maintenance and ensuring proper maintenance of vehicles; including refueling, cleaning, and minor repairs, takes place as needed on their trucks and trailers.
Ensure all freight documents are signed and submitted in a timely manner.
Plan routes and delivery schedules to meet deadlines while following all DOT regulations and company safety policies.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date Driver's Log, Safety Reports, and other required documents per state and federal regulations.
Assist the team in other non-driving-related tasks when deliveries are not needed.
Properly secure loads using chains, binders, and straps to ensure stability during transport.
Maintain professional communication with dispatchers, customers, and team members.
Coordinate with shipping and receiving for daily deliveries and pickups.
Physically load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, shop floors, and ground using manual lifting, forklifts, or overhead cranes.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any mechanical issues, defects, accidents, or violations to the appropriate personnel.

Ability to work overtime and on Saturdays as required.
Must pass a pre-employment DOT physical and DOT drug/alcohol test.
Minimum 5 years of commercial truck driving experience (preferred).
Safe and professional operation of a Tractor Trailer with a Flatbed Trailer (45', 48', 53', or Stretch), straight truck, or other vehicles to haul steel and equipment.
Ability to stay out of town on occasion.
Possess a valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound safety judgements.
Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Demonstrated expertise in DOT safety procedures, load securement practices, and regulatory compliance to ensure safe and lawful transportation operations.
Experience delivering to construction jobsites is preferred.
Knowledge of securing structural steel, stairs, and rails is a plus.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Experience hauling stretch and wide loads is not required but a plus.
