Tasks

Working closely with civil, electrical and geotechnical teams, you’ll help drive integrated solutions that are technically robust, commercially viable and aligned with Australian standards and industry best practice. -Work closely with civil, electrical and geotechnical teams to deliver integrated solutions. -Provide technical leadership, mentoring and oversight to the engineering team. -Develop design solutions and deliverables across bids and live projects to meet deadlines. -Support construction teams with timely structural advice and problem solving. -Liaise with authorities, independent engineers and reviewers to secure approvals. -Lead structural design across utility-scale solar, BESS and HV substation projects -Prepare and review calculations, specs, drawings and construction documents to Australian Standards. -Assist Design Managers with the delivery of all required design outputs. -Drive and contribute to design reviews, risk identification and corrective actions. -Carry out structural analysis for wind, seismic and other load conditions. -Lead structural design for renewable energy and HV substation projects (foundations, steel/concrete structures and balance-of-plant). -Undertake site inspections and reviews to ensure quality, safety and design compliance. -Lead value engineering and constructability reviews to optimise cost and compliance.

What You Bring

Our client is an emerging leader in the renewable energy sector, delivering utility-scale solar, battery energy storage (BESS) and HV substation projects across Australia. As their portfolio grows, they are now seeking an experienced Technical Lead Structural Engineer to provide high-level technical direction, support project delivery and help shape best practice design standards across the business. You’ll bring deep structural engineering expertise and proven project leadership experience, working across both renewable energy and HV power plant infrastructure. This role will see you involved from early concept and bids, through detailed design and into construction support, ensuring structural integrity, compliance and constructability on complex, large-scale projects. -Senior opportunity with influence across bids, design and project delivery -Around 12+ years’ structural engineering experience, including a minimum of 7 years on renewable energy and/or HV power plant projects -Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or actively progressing towards chartered status -Confident communicator with strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse, multidisciplinary teams -Degree-qualified in Structural or Civil Engineering, with postgraduate qualifications viewed favourably -Solid understanding of relevant structural design codes and standards, including those specific to renewable energy projects -Track record delivering structural designs for solar PV (fixed-tilt and/or tracking systems), battery storage facilities and/or substation infrastructure -Demonstrated capability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines while working both autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment -Highly competent user of structural analysis/design software and AutoCAD
