The Mechanical Engineer role supports IN2’s award‑winning MEP team in delivering high‑quality, sustainable engineering solutions across a variety of projects. The position is involved in every stage of project delivery, from concept design to hand‑over, and contributes to resource planning, client engagement, and quality assurance.
Based in Athlone, the Mechanical Engineer will design and develop mechanical solutions for sustainable MEP projects, support the design team with drafting and reporting, produce detailed designs and tender packages, oversee on‑site installation, ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance, and collaborate closely with senior engineers, architects, project managers, and clients.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) and have 3–5 years of consultancy experience covering projects from concept to completion. Required skills include proficiency with Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Dialux, Amtech, a strong understanding of MEP systems and sustainable principles, and excellent problem‑solving and communication abilities. Desirable qualifications are professional engineering accreditation, experience in award‑winning sustainable projects, and exposure to resource management and mentoring junior engineers.
Eligibility for this role is limited to candidates with permanent residency or unrestricted right to work in Ireland; visa sponsorship is not available.
The company offers a 37.5‑hour working week with flexible start and finish times between 8 am and 6 pm, while core hours from 10 am to 4 pm ensure team collaboration and meetings.
