The Director of IFM Technical Services will lead a comprehensive on‑site organization responsible for the reliability, maintenance, and innovation of critical building systems across a premier technology client’s Bay Area portfolio. This high‑impact role oversees specialized mobile engineering teams, base‑building infrastructure, and digital building initiatives, setting operational rigor and performance standards for staff, peers, and vendors.
- Lead strategy for digital building and innovation programs, using data to improve performance and user experience.
- Create long‑term asset lifecycle plans for critical infrastructure such as UPS, generators, and HVAC.
- Oversee Base Building Maintenance programs, including generators, UPS, electrical, and elevators.
- Direct unionized engineering teams covering HVAC, plumbing, appliance repair, water treatment, and fire‑life safety systems.
- Manage deployment of mobile engineers and specialized technicians across occupied and vacant sites.
- Ensure compliance, operational uptime, and KPI targets for high‑risk environments and specialized trades.
- Pilot and scale new technical solutions through the Innovation Program.
- Supervise 4+ direct reports and build regional technical service teams.
- Partner with 100+ matrixed colleagues to deliver integrated technical services.
- Serve as trusted advisor to internal and client stakeholders regionally.

- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or Professional Engineer preferred.
- Minimum 10 years progressive facilities maintenance or reliability engineering experience.
- At least 5 years managing CMMS platforms and integrated service delivery.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, UPS, generators, chillers, cooling towers, and auxiliary equipment.
- Experience planning, scheduling, and executing work orders; strong analytical and data‑interpretation skills.
- Ability to work onsite five days a week with 25 % travel within the Bay Area.
- Preferred locations: San Francisco or Mountain View; position does not sponsor visas.
Benefits
The position offers an estimated annual compensation of $200,000 – $225,000 and requires a full‑time onsite presence in Sunnyvale, CA, with 5 days per week at the client office and up to 25 % travel within the Bay Area. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, and preferred locations include San Francisco and Mountain View.
