Description
The Driver Helper rides on the vehicle and assists the driver in providing prompt, courteous, and complete waste removal services for customers on a designated residential route. The helper safely loads waste, carries bags and containers to the vehicle, and helps the driver maneuver the vehicle by directing from the ground, while also maintaining vehicle and work‑area cleanliness.
- Ride on the vehicle to assist the driver while servicing customers on a designated route.
- Operate packing mechanisms, levers, and handles to activate loading functions.
- Clean waste from the packer blade, truck body, hopper, and truck after each disposal trip.
- Perform complete pre‑ and post‑operation vehicle inspections and report safety issues.
- Courteously interact with customers, dispatchers, and others to ensure timely, professional service.
- Monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable material and address any violations.
- Clean areas affected by accidental waste spills in accordance with safety standards.
- Maintain required productivity standards to service customers efficiently.
- Follow all required safety policies and procedures.
