QA Automation Specialist

Description

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of Graitec’s software products. The role involves collaborating with cross‑functional teams, creating and executing comprehensive test plans, and building automated test scripts for web, API and mobile applications. The specialist also tracks defects, supports continuous improvement of testing processes, and mentors junior QA members.

• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define requirements and develop complete test plans and cases.
• Design, develop and execute automated test scripts for web, API and mobile applications using appropriate frameworks.
• Identify, analyze and document software defects, and work closely with developers to resolve them.
• Maintain and update automated test suites to stay in sync with application changes.
• Monitor test results and provide quality metrics and improvement recommendations.
• Mentor junior QA team members and promote best practices in test automation.
• Conduct manual testing to verify software quality and uncover defects.
• Apply Agile/Scrum methodologies throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Write test scripts in object‑oriented languages such as C#, Java or JavaScript.
• Perform API testing using tools like Postman or Rest Assured.
• Ensure comprehensive front‑end testing and validate web UI behavior.
• Utilize version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins) for test automation integration.
• Leverage SQL queries and database testing when required.
• Stay current with industry trends, tools and best practices in QA automation.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in civil, mechanical, computer engineering or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrate strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication and collaboration skills.
• Communicate fluently in English, both spoken and written.
• Preferred certification: ISTQB/ISEB Foundation.
• Desired experience with 3D software, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and automated testing frameworks.

Benefits

The position offers a target total compensation (On‑Target Earnings) ranging from CAD 75,000 to CAD 105,000, with a 10 % variable component. Salary levels are adjusted for location, experience and skill set, and Graitec is committed to pay transparency and gender‑equality principles.
