Description

The Line and Grade Area Manager is responsible for all layout activities and ensures safe, accurate work. This position serves as the intermediary between several Party Chiefs and the Line and Grade Manager, understands SQP goals, and collaborates with Project Leadership to identify improvement ideas. The role contributes to effective project management through daily observations and communication, and interfaces daily with the client and project management to resolve tolerance conflicts and field constructability issues.

• Plan and execute field engineering startup processes
• Install onsite layout accurately
• Ensure layout meets quality control standards
• Manage field engineering project closeout
• Direct and oversee direct reports on assigned projects
• Maintain a safe work environment
• Participate in training and certifications

Requirements

The Line and Grade Area Manager must demonstrate competency in field engineering planning, onsite layout installation, quality‑controlled layout, project closeout, team leadership, safety, and training. These areas describe the general nature and level of work performed and are not exhaustive.

Candidates must hold a high school diploma or equivalent, have at least seven years of related experience, and a minimum of four years as a Party Chief, along with knowledge of all phases of concrete and building construction.
