Works closely with design teams while applying detailed attention to modeling, clashing and annotating sheets. Gathers and requests specific information from other design disciplines necessary to move forward and complete electrical designs on schedule. Surveys job sites as needed for scope of work and quality to determine compliance with the prepared documents and customer expectations.
Acts as the primary constructability and QA/QC source for the team to ensure deliverables are high quality and meet company standards.
Performs lighting & power design and layouts including circuiting and switching schemes.
Monitors the design activities of other design professionals as needed to achieve high performance for work quality and productivity. This includes providing coaching, training, and mentoring for others. Provides performance feedback regularly.
Coordinates and reviews design and drawing work for team members and coordinates workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule.
Consults with vendors and reviews project shop drawings for design accuracy and contract requirements. Works with project managers as needed to develop engineered construction installation drawings from contract documents developed by outside firms.
Can coach and mentor others with excellent listening and communication skills.
Leads constructability and prefab strategies on assigned projects from inception through completion, in consultation with the project team. Completes 2D and 3D drafting tasks to support electrical construction initiatives, utilizing Autodesk and other standard Company software.
Capable of handling multiple projects and supporting engineering design leadership in development and implementation, along with maintaining Company engineering design and BIM modeling protocol.
Performs single line designs, panel schedules, load calculations, and Design Master Electrical.
Coordinates planning with architects, structural, civil, and mechanical engineers.
Organizes details of construction drawings and responds to construction administration items as they arise.
Attends BIM coordination meetings and makes appropriate changes as needed, escalating cost and scheduling issues to manager. Supports and complies with all BIM, modeling, prefab, technologies, and planning standards. Provides recommendations for changes to improve standards and procedures, as necessary. Responds to questions and addresses problems with appropriate resolutions and plan revisions.

Experience in electrical power distribution, lighting, and installation. Knowledge and experience with NEC, designated state construction and city codes preferred.
Journeyman or Master Electrician License helpful.
Associate degree or equivalent work experience in electrical engineering, electrical design, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum 8-9 years of BIM modeling experience, electrical design experience. Experience and ability to work independently on assigned projects. Minimum 5 years of field foreman experience preferred.
Demonstrated strong mathematical and analytical skills. Strong independent problem-solving, customer service and time management skills. Demonstrates good judgment in reporting problems.
Skills to read, interpret and understand electrical contracts, plans, drawings, and specifications. Knowledge of the National Electric Code. Trained and proficient with design techniques, electrical specifications, documentation, scheduling and power, lighting, and systems design work.
Excellent leadership, listening, interpersonal, writing, and verbal communication skills. Strong collaboration and teamwork skills. Effective small and large group training and facilitation skills with diverse teams.
Has strong knowledge of the National Electric Code and other building codes as they relate to design.
Experience and proficiency using Revit, Navisworks, AEC, ACC, Autodesk, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office software. Experience and proficiency using SKM and ETAP and/or Design Master electrical for engineering track positions.
Experience and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, assess multiple demands and manage priorities with a high degree of detail and organizational skills.
