Key duties include establishing and enhancing cost‑control systems, collecting daily cost data, and operating cost‑management processes. You will monitor management and project budgets covering labour, equipment, material and subcontractor costs, and produce reports that compare actual costs with budgeted figures. The role also involves quantity tracking, preparing weekly and monthly cash‑flow forecasts, and delivering data‑driven dashboards using the latest digital tools.

• Build and maintain AECOM cost control and management systems.
• Collect daily cost information and operate the cost management process.
• Establish and monitor management and project budgets for labour, equipment, material and subcontractor costs.
• Report cost performance against activities, providing metrics and variance analysis.
• Collate quantity tracking data and manage variances in liaison with all parties.
• Prepare weekly and monthly cost flow, cash flow, and value forecasting reports.
• Manage project cost forecasts, capture, allocations and related reporting.
• Deliver data analysis, dashboards and management information using advanced digital tools.

Requirements

We are recruiting Senior Project Controls Consultants for our Birmingham, Manchester or London offices. The role sits within the Integrated Programme Controls team and requires proven experience delivering PMO best practice on infrastructure projects in a consulting environment. You will be responsible for managing and delivering project and programme controls that capture actual and forecast costs to reflect business and project status.

The successful candidate holds a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and has worked in multi‑discipline infrastructure projects within a consultancy, with client‑facing responsibilities. Strong organisational, coordination and people‑management abilities, along with advanced knowledge of planning, scheduling, cost engineering, change control, risk and opportunity management, are essential. Proven PMO experience, exposure to large, complex construction projects, and proficiency in Primavera P6 and Power BI are highly valued, as are excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.

• Demonstrate multi‑discipline infrastructure project experience in a consultancy with client‑facing duties.
• Exhibit strong organisational, coordination and people‑management skills.
• Possess advanced knowledge of planning, scheduling, cost engineering, change control, risk and opportunity management.
• Show proven PMO experience or solid understanding of PMO functions.
• Experience on large, complex infrastructure or construction projects; professional project management qualification preferred.
• Proficient in Primavera P6 and Power BI (preferred).
• Maintain excellent analytical, problem‑solving and attention‑to‑detail abilities.
