The Mechanical and Electrical Estimator develops detailed, accurate cost estimates for mechanical and electrical systems from conceptual design through the guaranteed maximum price. The role includes reviewing drawings and specifications, performing quantity takeoffs, soliciting and evaluating subcontractor and supplier pricing, and preparing competitive bids. The estimator supports preconstruction by ensuring full scope coverage, identifying risks and opportunities, and maintaining accurate cost data while collaborating with internal teams, clients, design professionals, and trade partners.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States, hold a bachelor’s degree in a construction‑related field, and have at least three years of commercial construction estimating experience, with strong preference for ten or more years in preconstruction or related roles. Experience in mechanical and electrical estimation, proficiency with Microsoft Office, Sage, AutoCAD, and estimating software, and advanced Excel skills are required. The role demands detail orientation, strong time management, a CAN‑DO attitude, excellent communication, independent judgment, and the ability to read and interpret construction plans.
