What you would be doing

  • Gathers brush and feed brush into woodchipper.
  • With the proper PPE, will work around falling limbs.
  • Uses a chainsaw to cut brush, logs, and stumps of larger trees.
  • Operating the CMV, including preventing maintenance and upkeep of the equipment.
  • Services truck, chipper, and equipment, maintaining them in neat, clean, and specified mechanical order.
  • Applies chemical herbicide to right-of-way, following brush removal
  • Utilizes hose and spray nozzle from truck mounted spray equipment which includes tank, pump, hose reel, 200 feet of ½ inch hose, or utilizessprayer to treat remote areas.
  • Can work around hazardous equipment.
  • Can occasionally work on unleveled ground.

  • Can work in environments where there is excessive noise from machines, chain saws, wood chipper, while utilizing the proper hearing protection.
  • Must be able to operate and service all required tools and equipment, including chainsaws, chip truck, pruner.
  • Reliable transportation to and from meet up locations.
  • Able to consistently wear necessary PPE at all times
  • Can work in various temperatures and weather conditions being exposed to nature, i.e., dense vegetation which may include aggressive foliage, insects, seasonal plants etc.
  • Capable of effective communications and comprehension skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Vegetation Management and/or Grounds Person experience is a plus
  • Ability to concentrate and maintain attention for extended periods of time.
  • Can work safely in a hazardous environment.
  • Ability to perform storm work as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license is a required
