Survey Technician

Description

• Process, organize and analyze survey field data using Leica Infinity.
• Create and update precise maps, plans, and legal descriptions using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Research and analyze land records, deeds, and survey maps.
• Contribute to technical reports and documentation.
• Perform key mathematical computations for plotting features and boundaries.
• Develop trusted client relationships.
• Monitor projects for regulatory adherence and update the Project Surveyor.
• Implement innovative survey solutions for internal and external clients.
• Assist field crews operating Leica total stations, GPS, and scanning equipment.
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Requirements

Candidates should have at least a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for an associate’s degree in surveying and 3–5 years of experience, along with strong knowledge of land‑surveying principles, data processing, and AutoCAD Civil 3D, while demonstrating critical thinking, ownership, adaptability, and a collaborative mindset.

The role requires physical ability to lift up to 50 lb, a valid driver’s license for regional travel, and the capacity to work outdoors in varied weather and terrain, and Fisher is committed to equal employment opportunity for all individuals.

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• Associate’s degree in surveying or related field (preferred).
• 3–5 years of surveying experience (preferred).
• Knowledge of land surveying principles, terminology, and field methods.
• Experience downloading, processing, and organizing survey field data.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D (strongly preferred).
• Experience with MicroStation Open Roads (preferred).
• Familiarity with PennDOT field and office standards (preferred).
• Ability to deliver quality work through critical thinking and sound judgment.
• Strong ownership, prioritization, and adaptability in fast‑paced environment.
• Curiosity and continuous‑improvement mindset.
• Constructive response to feedback.
• Lift up to 50 lb.
• Valid driver’s license; travel to project sites in PA, OH, NY.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk and traverse uneven ground.
