  • You will be required to complete 3 months training and development phase to ensure you are safe and technically comfortable with the work ahead.
  • The key responsibility of this role is to ensure that the service requirements are met, and the trains enter service on time and defect free - whilst we are completing all necessary documentation to drive the Downer standard of work.
  • This role will ensure you have a schedule of works that you will plan and ensure safe and efficient completion of tasks.
  • You will carry out defect rectification and routine maintenance on rolling stock.

  • You must have Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) minimum level 3 aligned Mechanical or Electrical Trade qualifications. (Other related disciplines will also be considered - however please ensure this is Level AQF)
  • You should be able to read, comprehend and apply technical drawings for effective fault finding
  • Ability to work in a team environment or unsupervised as required
  • Current NSW Driver's Licence is a role requirement
  • Knowledge and commitment to ensuring a safe workplace
  • Knowledge of engineering best practices and electric traction is desirable
  • Sound Knowledge of IT systems and strong computer skills
  • Should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast pace working environment.
  • You should be able to recognise and manage challenges to help drive continuous improvement.
