This position works in a distribution center environment. They often must meet strict deadlines to maintain customer order deliveries.
Develop effective processes to maintain system performance through shift changes, high volume periods, and irregular operations in conjunction with other stakeholders
Lead by example through results-focused, people-centered direction, feedback, and coaching. Serve as first point of contact for all employee relations and material handling system operational issues
Participate and lead (as necessary) team, site, and customer meetings to ensure open, effective communications centered on collaborative efforts to meet production goals
Ensure operational process consistency and employee development through the design and execution of standardized training and quality assessment programs
Follow established escalation guidelines in the event of system downtime or irregular operations
They will take the lead to identify and fix mechanical problems with machinery, and they commonly work with greasy parts and tools, sometimes in uncomfortable positions.
While performing the maintenance aspect duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts. Operate and maintain equipment and measurement instruments.
Promote and manage compliance with all relevant company policies and government regulations including, but not limited to OSHA, company health and safety plans, contingency plans, and company training.
The employee at times will lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Regularly lifting parts and tools for extended periods of time and handling equipment such as conveyor systems.
Manage employee schedules and daily work assignments in conjunction with other stakeholders
Leverage detailed reporting to understand system performance and implement continuous improvement projects around employee performance and system operations
Maintain open and transparent relationships with customer and other vendor contacts to ensure maximum material handling system performance

Experience managing minimum 5-10 direct employees
This position is highly active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
Strong Microsoft office skills – Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook
Fully competent and versed in operations and maintenance
Knowledge of OSHA and safety practices
Working knowledge of computers and equipment
Flexibility with time, able to shift priorities quickly based on staff and system needs
Ability to work independently
Minimum of 2 years Material Handling Experience
Minimum of 1 year CMMS Experience preferred
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Regularly required to talk and hear through a handheld radio and telephone. The environment can also be loud because of equipment.
Knowledge and utilization of PPE (i.e., safety glasses, gloves, etc.) is required.
Minimum 3 year technical experience in an industrial environment

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
2 years of prior experience as a Team supervisor
Experience working with mechanical, electrical and controls (PLC, PC) systems
