Implement APIs for spatial data access, transformation, and visualization
Architect high-performance spatial data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and visualization
Manage operational SLAs for geospatial services
Develop and maintain Java-based backend services for geospatial applications
Develop unit and integration tests for geospatial components
Drive infrastructure requirements for cloud-based GIS services
Engage in requirement definition meetings and provide technical feedback on spatial data workflows
Review release planning and ensure quality deployments
Estimate level of effort (LOE) for geospatial projects

Strong problem-solving and performance tuning skills for spatial queries
7+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on geospatial technologies
Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and microservices architecture
Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Expertise in spatial indexing and optimization (R-Tree, QuadTree)
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
Knowledge of RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and OGC standards (WMS, WFS, WMTS)
Expertise in GIS and geospatial technologies, including: Spatial databases: PostGIS, Oracle Spatial, SQL Server Spatial GIS frameworks/libraries: GeoTools, GDAL/OGR, JTS Topology Suite Mapping platforms: ESRI ArcGIS, QGIS, OpenLayers, Leaflet Coordinate systems and projections: EPSG codes, datum transformations
Strong proficiency in Java backend development
Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
Exposure to cloud-native geospatial services (AWS Location Service, Google Maps APIs, Azure Maps)
Knowledge of geospatial analytics, routing algorithms, and network analysis
Familiarity with big data frameworks for spatial processing (Apache Spark with GeoSpark/GeoMesa)
