The Director of Projects is responsible for developing and executing strategies, providing guidance and leadership to achieve property and departmental goals. This role manages high-performing teams, oversees budgets and capital plans, coordinates design efforts, and fosters a culture of teamwork while exceeding service expectations across the property.
The position supervises managers, engineers, laborers, and dispatchers, ensuring effective oversight and performance across the department.
Work is performed in a moderate-noise environment that may include unrestricted second-hand tobacco smoke.
- Prepare bids, specifications, and coordinate capital projects involving construction, maintenance services, and equipment installation
- Monitor projects continuously, identify cost or schedule changes, and implement remedies
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and stakeholders to define project specifications
- Assist in preparing project proposals, including budgets, scopes, and presentation documents
- Obtain necessary permits and licenses from authorities for project execution
- Maintain a world-class preventative maintenance program, inspecting and documenting HVAC, electrical, water, refrigeration, and other integrated systems
- Provide strategic oversight of project budgets with forecasting, expense monitoring, and regular auditing for financial accuracy and compliance
- Collaborate with executives to address urgency, remove obstacles, and resolve daily challenges
- Oversee department budgets and forecasting for assigned functions
- Support hiring processes, define competencies, and establish criteria to recruit, train, develop, and organize qualified team members
- Develop RFPs and oversee comprehensive vendor contracts, leveraging strong negotiation skills
- Perform all duties necessary to support efficient department operation
- Ensure consistent adherence to OSHA guidelines and promptly address violations or concerns
- Create an environment where team members feel empowered to report potential violations or misconduct
- Guarantee that quality services and controls meet established standards
- Administer and control the preventive maintenance program

Candidates must be able to obtain all required licenses and permits under federal, state, and local regulations.
Strong English language skills are required for reading safety rules, operating manuals, and communicating verbally and in writing. The role also demands the ability to apply common-sense reasoning to follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions and solve problems with multiple variables.
The job requires regular standing, frequent reaching, talking, and hearing, as well as the ability to lift up to 10 lb regularly, 25 lb frequently, and 50 lb occasionally, and to perform movements such as pushing, pulling, bending, and climbing in varied work areas, including confined spaces.
- Adapt to temporary or permanent additional duties and responsibilities as needed
- Minimum age of 21 years
- Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
- Six years of facilities/engineering leadership experience in a large-scale resort or casino
- Project Management experience preferred; CPO certification preferred
- Proven knowledge of CMMS systems and advanced proficiency with engineering software for preventative maintenance and energy management
- Knowledge of CHP (Combined Heat and Power) systems and strong working knowledge of OSHA General Industry statutes and regulations
- Demonstrated ability to influence collaboration across all organizational levels
- Strong leadership, team development, problem‑solving, and clear communication skills
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays in a fast‑paced, high‑stress environment
- Nevada B General Builder Contractor license preferred
