Help ensure that designed electrical facilities meet NEC, NESC, RUS and Cooperative and Specific utility standards
Design projects that will maintain and support various electrical utility systems by designing and creating detailed drawings, specifications, staking, site walk-downs, construction support, bill of materials, and cost estimates for distribution systems
Collaborate with team members in an open communication culture, providing support in various disciplines as needed, including surveying, environmental, permitting, project management, and engineering
Manage communications among the project team and client
Perform electrical system modeling and analysis. Prepare written reports and information related to analysis
Maintain the technical quality, knowledge, and expertise of the work
Implement the project QA/QC plan
Develop the project understanding, approach, and work plan
Provide leadership and mentoring to project teams

Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems and utility construction
Competency in Spida-Calc, Pole Foreman, O-Calc or other similar design programs
Familiar with industry-specific technology and terminology
3 or more years of experience in distribution line design
Familiarity with Distribution Design Studio is highly desirable
Engineering principles used in electrical utility system; RUS specifications and work order procedures; NESC and NEC regulations; legal descriptions, easements, and the permit application process; understanding of computer modeling of electric systems; essentials of algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
Strong ownership, written and oral communication, and organizational skills
Proficient with AutoCAD, MicroStation, or other Design Software
Proficient with Microsoft Office
Ability to make decisions with guidance in accordance with established policies and procedures and use initiative and judgment in completing tasks and responsibilities in a timely and accurate manner

The posted salary range represents the typical range for this position and is provided in accordance with applicable state and local transparency laws. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
